Barb Sotiropoulos is a Calgary-based designer and multidisciplinary creative with a passion for illustration and visual storytelling. A graduate of the Visual Communications and Design program at the Alberta College of Art and Design (now Alberta University of the Arts), Barb has built a dynamic career working with both local and international brands.
Her design work spans shopper marketing, print, digital, and web collateral for clients such as Coca-Cola, Kraft Heinz, Keurig, Danone, Activia, International Delight, Jayman BUILT, McCafé, Mark’s, and Sport Chek. With experience that includes art directing lifestyle-focused photo shoots and developing promotional materials for events, product launches, and in-store campaigns, Barb brings both strategic thinking and artistic flair to every project. She is also skilled in final art production and illustration.
In addition to her commercial design work, Barb is an accomplished artist whose paintings and illustrations have been exhibited and sold, receiving recognition in both local art communities and national publications. Her creative pursuits extend into writing as well—she contributed a monthly column to COLORED PENCIL Magazine and co-hosted the Sharpened Artist | Colored Pencil Podcast, both based in the United States of America. A curated selection of her articles was published as a book in 2019.
Barb is currently available for part-time freelance projects and continues to explore new ways to blend design, fine art, and storytelling in her work.
